At the turn of the century, the banking and financial services sectors were just finishing a monumental shift in their industry, consumerism. With the emergence of better informed consumers who demanded transparency and a greater range of options, banks and financial institutions had to adapt or die.
Thirty years later, consumerism was just starting to gain momentum in healthcare, when the pandemic hit. While the emergent issues in response to the pandemic have increased our awareness of some of our consumer’s needs, many of the underlying fundamentals are still not in place. So as an industry, we are left with the same options, adapt or die.
